Daily writing prompt
If you could permanently ban a word from general usage, which one would it be? Why?
What’s next? Banning words that are streamed together inside of bound hardback covers? Then do we burn them?
No, thank you.

Yeah, I can’t come up with a word to ban either. It’s all about context I guess.

There are words I don’t like, but my post is actually serious today. it’s the notion of banning words, leading to banning books, leading to burning books. Censorship. I’m not down with it.

Thank you, Mary. My post is actually serious today, as opposed to some other days when I have fun with the prompt. Censorship in any form infuriates me.

This is a good point. I didn’t even give much thought to the slippery slope of censorship.
But there are a few words out there that just annoy the crap out of me

Several words annoy me, but I wouldn’t want to ban them. Because there goes the slippery slope.

Oh sure! Let’s do books like we’ve already done to wildlife. Only instead of eliminating them one spieces at a time, we will burn them on genre at a time.
