This prompt is underwhelming. For those who want to read my poetry, check it out. It’s all here on this blog.
My musical taste is eccentric, just like my personality. The only thing that isn’t my jam is country music. I do like Chris Stapleton, but that is where it ends.
I don’t have a poem to accompany today’s prompt.
I’m going to leave this video and lyrics here. The song sums up my poetry journey so far this year, and I love Jason Mraz’s music.

Calm down
Deep breaths
And get yourself dressed instead
Of running around
And pulling on your threads saying
Breaking yourself upIf it’s a broken part, replace it
If it’s a broken arm then brace it
If it’s a broken heart then face itAnd hold your own
Know your name
And go your own wayHold your own
Know your name
And go your own way
And everything will be fineHang on
Help is on the way
Stay strong
I’m doing everythingHold your own
Know your name
And go your own wayHold your own
Know your name
And go your own wayAnd everything, everything will be fine
EverythingAre the details in the fabric
Are the things that make you panic
Are your thoughts results of static cling? Are the things that make you blow
Hell, no reason, go on and scream
If you’re shocked it’s just the fault
Of faulty manufacturingEverything will be fine
Everything in no time at all
EverythingHold your own
And know your name
Go your own wayAre the details in the fabric (Hold your own, know your name)
Are the things that make you panic
Are your thoughts results of static cling? (Go your own way)Are the details in the fabric (Hold your own, know your name)
Are the things that make you panic (Go your own way)
Is it Mother Nature’s sewing machine? Are the things that make you blow (Hold your own, know your name)
Hell no reason go on and scream
If you’re shocked it’s just the fault (Go your own way)
Of faulty manufacturingEverything will be fine
Everything in no time at all

I’m not a huge country guy either, but I do like a few songs and truly love “That’s Damn Rock and Roll” by Eric Church. If you’ve not heard it, you should check it out. 👍

That is a good song. Is this considered country music? it doesn’t sound like country to me. It sounds like rock with blues and a guy with a country accent singing. It reminds me a bit of George Thorogood who I absolutely love.

That’s what today’s country music is: rock music sung with a twang. It’s not real country music, and I hate it.

What I heard definitely sounded like rock. Thanks for your comment!

He’s a country artist, but the album that came off of had more of a rock and roll vibe.

That song had a lot of different elements to it, for sure.

It does. There’s also a clip of him performing it live with Lzzy Hale from Halestorm that is very good too,

What? You don’t like country music? 😂 What about Dolly Parton’s “Jolene”? 🤣 I’m with you, not a big country fan either. Well, except for Dolly. By the way, the photo is very cute.

I like Dolly. I like 9 to 5. That’s kind of catchy. I like Patsy Cline. Some of those older 50s country stars maybe, but in general, I am not a fan.
Thanks. Started early with the sassy facial expressions. 😆
