Thanks again for the art inspiration, Kevin!

Was it really 30 years ago
When we met on this bench?
We talked of squirrels
And raspberry berets
(the kind you’d find in a secondhand store)
Her smile lit up the sky
As the eclipse overtook the sun
I couldn’t believe my eyes
I couldn’t look away
From her
(Not the eclipse)
I would give anything
To go back to September 27, 2033
Before everything went—
💫
“Went what, Ethan?” she asked. I looked up with a crooked smile. “Are you writing out loud again?” She was standing there glowing, the sun all around her head, her expression open and teasing. She was the solar eclipse, she always has been, since September 27, 2033.
“Hey, Kiddo,” I said.

Very interesting. A sequel? Heading over to check part 1 now.
I enjoy this very much, and I love the nod to Prince. 😎👍

Yes, you know me, and sequels and prequels and time travel. Lol!
At first, I was inserting Prince Easter eggs everywhere but then I sort of fell off of that habit. I need to pick it up again it was fun. 😊

When I saw the old man on the bench, I thought of the short story that I wrote in September. That story was based on something that happened to me. So I didn’t really know how I wanted to write the old man on the bench. I tried several times and nothing was working. I ended up with what I have now, and decided to just post it because I couldn’t get anything to flow. 🤷♀️😊

I thought it came out really, really well. I like the way you shift through these different moments in time. It’s like looking at a photo album in a way. 😊
