When kids & cats are quiet

Daily writing prompt
What makes you nervous?

It’s usually too late once you find them. There might be poo everywhere, and I’m talking about the cats here. When kids are quiet, they might be drawing on the walls with Sharpies. Sometimes they form an alliance and the cats eagerly and happily accept the food that is purposely dropped on the floor.

Beware the silence…

  1. 😂 it’s the other way around here. No kids of course, but we know when the cat has done something after a loud crash or that she’s racing around the house and screaming. Usually there’s either a poopy butt or just a really good poop 😝.

  2. I feel lucky the cat I had for 19 years (Meep) was a very large feline (18 pounds in his prime) who pretty much just took up most of the couch when he came inside. Now and then he’d let someone pet him. Mostly, he’d flip the tip of his tail when someone was about to try, signaling he wasn’t interested. He never destroyed anything. He could have though.

    1. He sounds like a really nice gentlemanly cat. my cats have destroyed stuff but not on purpose. Well, it is deliberate when they scratch the furniture, but they don’t realize that it’s furniture. It’s something that belongs to them. Similar to all the sharp corners of every table, the cabinets, me, etc…

      1. Ah, ok. It’s not really safe to let the cats out around here so the ones that I’ve had recently have been indoors. Never really had a very good hunting cat though. I had a cat named kitty who would toy with mice but that was about it. In fact, one time she decided to lie down on the mouse, maybe to suffocate it, who knows, but the mouse ended up moving and kitty jumped about 3 feet off the ground in fear 😂
