What are you most worried about for the future?
Worrying is pointless, yet it is difficult to stop doing it.
Worrying about the future will cause anxiety.
Thinking too much about the past will cause depression.
Does worrying about anything solve anything? Does trying to control the outcome of something that hasn’t happened yet really work?
Is worrying about something you cannot control at all a good way to spend your time?
No.
If you can make small steps today so that tomorrow (which is the future) looks a little less scary and a little more like you hoped it would, then do that today.
Don’t overthink it, don’t overplay it, and please don’t waste today thinking about tomorrow. What if you don’t get a tomorrow?

I took some small steps early this morning. Now I want to take a nap.

My younger brother worried a lot as a child, so mum bought him the Mr. Worry book. I think that made him worry he was worrying all the time. It’s built into us, our survival strategy. All fears are twigs on the tree of the fear of death, so they say. Meditation helps, it slowly slowly trims the tree. Mindfulness and keeping your mind in the now (all people in the history of the world have lived in this ‘now’, we’re all here together, so stay here) is the right way as you suggested.

Your right, Amy! Worrying is pointless, I try not to do it but sometimes my brain goes there anyway, and when it does I try to reframe my thoughts! X
