The most important invention in your lifetime is…
I’m going to be a rebel. I choose migraine medications, Post It notes, the MRI machine and The Walkman.
Song I thought of while trying to come up with a response to this prompt:
She Blinded Me With Science – Thomas Dolby
It’s poetry in motion
She turned her tender eyes to me
As deep as any ocean
As sweet as any harmony
Mm, but she blinded me with science
She blinded me with science
And failed me in biology, yeah-yeah
Now-uh, huh-huh
When I’m dancing close to her
Blinding me with science, science
Science
I can smell the chemicals
Blinding me with science, science
Science
Science
Mm no, but it’s poetry in motion
And when she turned her eyes to me
As deep as any ocean
As sweet as any harmony
She blinded me with science
She blinded me with science
And failed me in geometry
When she’s dancing next to me
Blinding me with science, science
Science
Mm-mm, mm-mm, mm
I can hear machinery
Blinding me with science, science
Science
Huh, it’s poetry in motion
And now she’s making love to me
The spheres are in commotion
The elements in harmony
She blinded me with science
She blinded me with science
And hit me with technology
Good heavens Miss Sakamoto, you’re beautiful
I, I don’t believe it
There she goes again
She’s tidied up and I can’t find anything
All my tubes and wires
Careful notes
And antiquated notions
But, it’s poetry in motion
And when she turned her eyes to me
As deep as any ocean
As sweet as any harmony
Uh, she’s blinding me with science
She blinded me with science
She blinded me with

SO MUCH. I do not know what it is

You called it humor but the 3 inventions you listed down are very good to have! ✨

I agree, they are very good to have. 😊 But I didn’t want to take this prompt too seriously, and I didn’t want to write about what everyone else is writing about. That’s why I called it humor.🙂

Yup. I agree! No wonder you got 10k views! 🎈

Beaker made the big time 😄

Ha! Beaker is living his best life. OK well… Maybe not his best life, but he’s somehow still alive in the lab. 😂
Every time I looked at the gifs of him I cracked up. I wanted to use all of them. But I only used one for the featured image and one at the bottom of the post. Proud of myself for not devoting the whole post to Beaker😅

Your show of restraint is commendable. 😄
Perhaps an opportunity to be Beaker-centric will present itself at some point lol

Indeed. Thank you. 🤭
Maybe tomorrow’s prompt will ask about our favorite scientific advancement. Then of course I will have to reply that it’s Beaker’s and Dr. Bunsen Honeydew’s groundbreaking work. And then, of course it’s all GIFs from there. 🤣

Tomorrow’s is what do you need a break from, and Thursday’s is what’s your favorite candy.
Oops. Sorry if I spoiled it 😄

How do you know that? Where do you find those?
Tomorrow I need a break from all of the prompts that are not about Beaker 🤣

If you click on the “My Site” link in the upper left of your browser, when you get to that page, scroll down a hair and you should see today’s prompt. There’s an arrow to the right, if you click it, it shows the upcoming prompts. I’ve already got tomorrow and Thursday written and scheduled lol

First of all, well done you! So efficient!
I had no idea that was there. I’m wondering if it’s not on the app. I have to check. Thanks!

I’m not sure if it’s on the app. Can definitely see it when I’m on PC though.
I figure if I can knock them out early, why not? 😄
I already have NTT and SHS scheduled too lol

Wow! Props! I can’t see it on the app. I’m not opening up my laptop lol. I’ll just have to be surprised. 😆

Indeed. I won’t tell you any more of them. It’s much more fun seeing your disgust at most of them real time 🤣🤣

🤣🤣🤣 for the featured photo I almost put that Robert Downey Jr. gif where he’s rolling his eyes 🤣🤣🤣

I’m trying to be nice to the daily prompt. But it’s really hard.😅

I think you’re doing a better job than I am. Your prompt responses are positive. Mine are sometimes snarky. 😅

I try to have fun with them, but make no mistake, yours are fun too! lol
I am sure I said this before, but sometimes I drop a pic and then the mic because some I truly don’t like 😄

lol, I have occasionally noticed that. 😁

If I don’t like the game, I don’t play. Simple as that. Or I change the rules. 😆

I am a rule changer/breaker 100% 🤭

Well, 94% of the time. That’s more accurate. I’m going to be nice to the prompts the next two days. 🙂

Seriously though, great list. I ALMOST put the Walkman on mine.

Thanks.
Whew! Would’ve been embarrassing to have two people say the Walkman. Just kidding.
I know, I’ve been singing that song all day now. Lol.

I love how you’ve highlighted such a diverse range of inventions, from migraine medications to the Walkman, showcasing how both medical advancements and everyday items have significantly impacted our lives. It’s intriguing to see how these inventions have shaped personal and societal developments in unique ways. Plus, tying in “She Blinded Me With Science” by Thomas Dolby adds a fun, creative element to your reflection on the importance of scientific innovation.
Given your appreciation for a variety of inventions and the nod to a classic song, do you think the intersection of technology and music has played a pivotal role in how we experience and appreciate music today? How do you see this relationship evolving in the future?

Thanks for your thoughtful comment, Justin. I do think technology and music have played a pivotal role in how he experience music. Without technology advancements, we would still be listening to music on wind-up record players. Not that there’s anything wrong with those, but technology is always advancing, and as it continues to advance, we will see more changes. we’ve already seen changes from the songs and the inventions that I’ve mentioned in this post. The advancements are almost daily. The introduction of AI as it relates to music production concerns me a bit. I want to continue to hear real people sing real lyrics. The prospect of AI generated voices cause me to pause and cringe. Away from the roots of the creative process of music making thanks again for your thoughtful post and thought-provoking queries.

I apologize for the typos and little blips. I used dictation to reply to your comment. Hopefully most of it makes sense. Thanks again for stopping by.
