Daffodils

Mini-daffodil doing its thing

      1. I don’t know maybe the flowers around here are just built different lol. My Gerbera daisies have been alive all winter because I have been covering them at night. They even bloomed in the winter. My hyacinth have been coming up since the beginning of February. The Maple trees have tons of buds, which means one thing: allergies. 😩🤧
You have a little bit of time left before you get the allergy situation. 😊

      2. The weather changes have already given me a bit of a preview. This is why I don’t understand how people can like Spring. It’s really not enjoyable 😄

      3. Winter needs to last longer. Simple as that.

I have really severe reactions to pollen. Even meds only do so much. I used to take shots every two weeks until I developed a reaction to those.

      4. Maybe you could move to Alaska. Lol

I have very severe reactions to pollen, mold and dust, and many other substances. I also did the allergy shots, but I got anaphylaxis twice from them, so I stopped. I can totally relate.

      5. I have actually entertained the idea before, believe it or not. Getting my ass to a colder clime and or higher elevation

Yes, it sucks but again, they became not worth it. I didn’t have a severe reaction as that, but breathing definitely wasn’t fun. About the time I felt better, ti was time for another shot again.

      6. I don’t know if a higher elevation would work, unless it snows all the time up there. Maybe.

Yeah, I almost died twice from them so I refuse to do that ever again. With allergies isn’t fun that’s for sure.

      7. Well, I am all in on snowy mountains, so that would be what I was looking for lol

Even with meds, I have found nothing works consistently for me, so I am always looking for something better.

      8. One of my former co-workers used to use that and he said similar. I have had fairly decent luck with Allegra in the past, but again, only so much.

      9. I found better luck with Nasonex, or Nasacort, which are like Flonase, but not as strong. Even though Flonase works well enough, sometimes it gives me nosebleeds.
I have minimal luck with Allegra. I actually think it doesn’t do anything. Benadryl helps more, but it makes me feel loopy – and it’s supposed to cause drowsiness, but I get a paradoxical reaction of hyperactivity.

      10. Benadryl knocks me clean on my ass. It’s the main ingredient in Tylonel PM lol
Mucinex tablets help me to some degree. I try to cycle them so they don’t lose their effectiveness if I can help it.

      11. Yeah, Mucinex are good for drying out the runny nose. Benadryl is in almost everything that is supposed to help with sleep. I take melatonin if I can’t sleep. And that works. But it doesn’t help the allergies.

      12. Yes I take melatonin too as needed. Mucinex, if I take it soon enough helps.
I’m just resigned that at some point in the spring, I am going to get walloped no matter what I take lol

      1. I agree. Everything seems to be popping at once. The maple tree buds are huge and will fall to the ground in the next rain, which will be tomorrow.
