From the first time it was said to the present, I am truly humbled and appreciative. There is no greater feeling than releasing what lives in your mind and heart to the outside world, and having people identify, relate and enjoy it. Even if it’s not feel-good reading material – perhaps especially then: when the subject matter is dark and from deep within, yet people absorb, reflect and are sometimes without words – stunned, overwhelmed. It is a risky venture to share one’s work. It can be met with unfavorable comments. There is a level of vulnerability that one must accept as a writer. In the beginning it was very difficult to be vulnerable, to risk being not enough, and to accept criticism as well as praise. I appreciate everyone who reads my words, regardless of their opinion of them. But for the ones who do enjoy reading my words, and for those who do identify with them, it buoys my soul. There is no greater compliment.

  5. You make a very good point here – even the dark and vulnerable stuff can be shared for a positive purpose. I usually avoid the dark stuff if I can, as like to be positive and uplifting, but I can’t lie if I’m feeling down. I thought it might be self indulgent to do so, then realised that at least some one might be identifying with the words, and that it might help them.

    1. It is also helpful to oneself. It gets the dark stuff out and into the light, therefore healing. That it can help others heal as well, makes it all the better.

    1. Thanks Edward. I appreciate it. I have to tackle the prompt for today and I’m not sure what it is. Jetpack has really been acting up. For example, you were placed into my spam box. 🤷‍♀️

      2. I restarted the phone a few times. It just wasn’t working. I also got on the phone with Verizon right away because the router doesn’t work. It’s a two-fold problem here.

      7. When I was in the Army, I used to call the help or service desk that didn’t know what they were doing “the no help desk.” I rarely find a competent customer service person.🤦🏽‍♂️
