Collection or Obsession?

Do you have any collections?

Either way, it’s Hello Kitty. It all started with a pencil case my dad brought back from one of his trips to Japan. I was about three years old. I no longer have the pencil case, and I curse when I think about the pencil case’s missing status, but I have plenty of other collectibles. If I see something HK, I have to have it.

    1. Thanks David. I’m sad about the missing pencil case too and it’s been a long time since I’ve seen it. Bubba was a character so he deserved a fitting caption.😊

  1. Collecting is a good interest as long as it’s healthy and fun.

In the guitar playing world there is something called GAS. Gear Acquisition Syndrome. Basically you buy too much stuff and its very common. There is always a honeymoon period where you love the latest thing; until the next thing. I have too many guitars and other gear, it’s almost embarrassing. I now try to live by someone’s quote “More Mel Bay, less Ebay”. That is, more learning to play (Mel Bay is a methods book for learning guitar) rather than researching what to buy next.

Anyway, my Jazz is coming along, I’m enjoying that journey.

    1. That’s cool! I’ve never heard of that, but it makes a lot of sense. It’s an addiction like any other, when it gets out of hand. I’m glad you’re learning something you like and that it’s coming along nicely.

I don’t spend that much on Hello Kitty stuff anymore, because most of my money goes into the upkeep and maintenance (and emergencies!) of my house. Between that and food, there’s not much left. 😊
