Have you ever had surgery? What for?
Isn’t there a better way to word these ridiculous prompts?
I’ll play along today, WordPress.
Yes, I had a tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy at the age of four. Repeated ear infections were causing me to lose my hearing, so the adenoids – along with the tonsils as a bonus – had to go.
I woke up during the surgery, and a nice nurse told me to go back to sleep. Many years later, I would end up working in that same hospital. But I could never find my tonsils or my adenoids. They must’ve hidden them well.
My hearing came back, and all was functioning well until recently when the ear infections returned, and now I am almost completely deaf in my left ear. No one really knows why, except repeated infections are known to do that. Does that answer your question, WordPress? Is this prompt data mining for the selling of organs on the black market?

You have a typo…auto correct? Death instead of deaf

So sorry 😞
And ugh, sometimes the prompts can’t get any worse!
I did laugh at the “could never find my tonsils or adenoids” years later lol 😂
Happy Saturday!

The questions they ask are like questions an alien would ask on their first day on earth. Lol.
I’m glad you got a laugh out of that – it was intended to evoke that response. Happy Saturday! (Or, as Susie likes to call it, Caturday!) 😊

Aw, rough to go through so much at such a young age, but interesting that you remember waking. Sad about the pup. 😦 I’m sorry.

I do remember waking I think they didn’t give me enough sedative because I was so little. Thanks, she was a sweet little puppy. 💗

Good that they were careful, but still. 🙂

How sad to lose you’re hearing that way. And yeah, I wonder what’s behind WordPress reasoning for asking this question.

Yeah, it sucks. I don’t why they ask a question like this. It’s not a HIPAA violation, but it feels like it should be

I too have deafness in my left ear and I wear a hearing aid 🦻🏻 for the last 12 months I’ve had a continuous infection in this ear that I’m given antibiotics and painkillers for but it doesn’t go away. It’s so annoying

I think I need a hearing aid. They are incredibly expensive though. But I can’t hear things well and I don’t know where sounds are coming from because I don’t have both ears working. Plus, I like to sing, and I can’t hear in stereo with my left ear not working. I understand what you’re saying about the continuous infection. I feel like I have the same situation

I do believe I looked very similar to this the morning of my splenectomy. I know what this feels like.

I’m sorry, Susan. That is a young age to have to get a splenectomy.

i was 13 but honestly it was a long time ago so i don’t really have any bad memories. i just know i was pretty puny the morning after the accident, before the operation.

Aw..scary operation, I was told that ice cream was the first thing given to children once they could eat, is that true?

Not in my case. I don’t believe ice cream is the first thing given because of the dairy content – dairy makes thick mucus and you shouldn’t cough – although you do sometimes, even without ice cream – and then it’s not pleasant. I remember lots of popsicles.

I had a tonsilectomy at age 6. I can’t imagine waking up during surgery! I’d be terrified if I did!
