Dogs or cats?

Get it correct, WordPress. Geez.

And you forgot birds, squirrels, bunnies, lightning bugs, toads…

Everyone is a candidate for the list, except mosquitoes and maggots.

    1. That’s a good one. People who don’t like cats intrigue me. They really don’t understand them and perhaps may fear them. Cats can be aloof, but they are also very affectionate. They show similar behaviors that dogs show to their owner/staff, but only a cat owner/staff would know that. I think of it in terms of attachment styles. Dogs are anxiously attached, whereas cats are securely attached. Some cats are dismissive avoidant or fearful avoidant, though. They are all different, and shouldn’t be grouped together into a negative package.

Regardless, all creatures should be appreciated.

      1. I’m totally with you. It takes a kind of patience to handle and appreciate a cat, and they are an uncontrollable world to themselves. Hence you can’t herd them! (like women, ahem). Growing up we had a few cats all with different personalities. A totally black one was a real scaredy cat, from the RSPCA (rescue), and we think it must have had a terrible life prior. If you walked slowly up to it you could give it a little pat on it’s head that it really wanted, but would back off soon after into it’s own little world. I felt so sorry for that cat, so I always tried to spend time with it to just be with it. Haha, makes me sad thinking about it. anyways….!

      2. Susie’s mom was that way – she was from a neighbors house, but she was terribly abused. She was frightened of men, dark pants and boots. She had terrible anxiety and wouldn’t even come in the house for food at first. But then we noticed she was pregnant and made her come in the house to her own room. Having her kittens a purpose other than being afraid. That’s one of the reasons why I never let my mom give away any of the kittens. Now I’m just down to one kitten and she’s 16. People who don’t understand just haven’t tried.
