What’s the story behind your nickname?
My name has three letters and two syllables. I don’t have a nickname. The closest I can get to a nickname is Ame. (Pronounced like same or name.) My mom used to call me this, and a handful of other people.
My mom named me Amy for simplicity reasons, at least that’s what she told me. It was a choice between Amy and Michelle, and Amy would be easier to learn how to spell.
Did I just write a poem?
“It's Amy,” I said. 
Maybe, a poem is in the intention of the intentioned, and well as the beholden of the beholder 🙂
You’ll also note it doesn’t have to make sense to anyone!
May the aim of Ame be to spread less pain than Amy does of her nicknamesake.
