What do you do to improve your sleep?
This was definitely a previous prompt, and I know I have the visuals saved in the media library.
*heads to the library, starts rummaging*
While I look for my previous post’s visuals, I have to say that melatonin gives some crazy dreams and it doesn’t always work in terms of improving sleep. It does help me to fall asleep, but it doesn’t necessarily lead to me staying asleep. And while I’m sleeping, I’m having crazy dreams. Like last night. I don’t know if it’s because of this extreme heat and that I was outside in, it or if it was strictly the melatonin side effect, but I had dreams that were off the charts weird. Of course I cannot remember them now. So I guess I would recommend trying melatonin to help one fall asleep faster, but not necessarily to improve sleep.
I highly recommend the gummy version, as it is a delicious way to fall asleep.

Finding things in the media library is not easy. lol 🤣
Thank you for the recommendation! I could use some melatonin about now.

You’re right about the media library! 😂
Hopefully, if you give it a try, it works for you. Melatonin is a little bit iffy. And it can cause grogginess. I can’t take very much of it, and I have to take it before 10 PM or it gives me a kind of a hangover 😵💫😊

Thanks for telling me that. The more information, the better.

🙂 Great meme. I can’t take melatonin because for some reason it hits me days later and I feel really groggy.

Thanks, Stephanie! Yeah, it makes me groggy too. I can only take a little bit of it, which is never a full dose and I have to take it before 10 PM. It also kind of aggravates my migraines.

That’s a good point. I’m sure you have to be precise.

Even then, it’s sometimes too much. I find it does aggravate my migraines a little bit. The melatonin, I mean.

Gotcha. I thought maybe I was over-sensitive to it, but I guess it’s just potent. :))

I tried melatonin once. The stuff made me jittery and had me staring at the ceiling. Never again.

Yikes! How many milligrams did you take? People don’t realize more is not better with melatonin.

I would have to look. It was a single over-the-counter pill. I don’t think it was more than the 10 mg. it may have even just been 5 mg I wasn’t trying to “take too much” or anything. (I think those are over-the-counter dosage sizes if I recall correctly)
I just know that I’ll never touch the stuff again

I wasn’t insinuating that you were trying to take too much. In every other country, it’s a prescription, and it’s better controlled. 10 mg of melatonin is a very high dose and I don’t think should be allowed to be sold over over-the-counter. 5 mg is too much for me. I can take about 2 mg tops. Anything over that, and I get dizzy and my brain feels weird.

No offense taken.
But yeah, you’re absolutely right. I’m sure whatever amount I took was way too much.
I knew a couple doctors once and they said that for over-the-counter medication, like Tylenol, the written instructions only allow you to take about a third of what your body can really handle. Manufacturers do this because they know that people will take too much

I don’t doubt that… and people don’t factor in things like metabolism, body weight, and unknown variables when they take over-the-counter medication.
